Georgia L. Sutton, 88 of Jamesport, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton. Services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, August 1, at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin, where friends may call after 11:00am Saturday. Family visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.

Georgia was born January 8, 1922, to Clem and Grace (Fossinger) Tingler in Jameson, Missouri. Following graduation, Georgia married Norman Sutton on October 30, 1940. The couple began farming and moved several times before purchasing a farm north of Jamesport in 1951, where they raised their family and lived the rest of their lives.

Georgia had many talents including gardening, sewing and cooking. She took great pride in sharing produce from her garden with friends and family. Georgia also was a talented seamstress, making most of her clothes and sewing many quilts. She was an excellent cook, always taking meals out to the field. Georgia was committed to her family, whether it be with the kids or helping out on the farm. Georgia was a member of the Jameson Christian Church, the Lincoln Farm Club and the Daviess County Farm Bureau where she served on the board.

Georgia is preceded in death by her husband: Norman in 1998, parents, great-grandchild: Adon Sutton, and brother: Edwin Tingler.

Survivors: Sons: Keith (Nancy) Sutton of Jamesport, MO, Kenneth (Pam) Sutton of Hamilton, MO; Sister: Dorothy Adams of Buffalo, MO; Grandchildren: Jeremy, Jenni, Tim, Tiffany Sutton; Great-grandchildren: Michael, Caeleb, Michelle, Wyatt and Kaleb.
